    Poker Face

    Las Vegas

I’ve finally recouperated from my week in Las Vegas. The lights, the gambling, the Elvis impersonators on the street — it lived up to every cliche. Since I was on a work trip, I had to actually work and not see as much of the city as I wanted to, but it whet my appetite and I’ll definitely be going back soon for a long weekend.

I stayed at The Venetian in a suite that was bigger than my whole apartment. I ate far too many pastries (a hazard of working at a business conference) and also sampled some nice restaurants, include Tao. Phantom of the Opera was performing at The Venetian, and so I had to endure songs from it every time I rode the elevators. I also saw women with some of the most horrifying plastic surgery — on an unrelated note, one of my friends at the conference saw Michael Jackson at Wynn Las Vegas. What a town!
